Coffee Roasted
with Soul.
We source rare single-origin beans from family farms around the world, slow-roast them in small batches, and deliver them to your door within 48 hours of roasting.
From Remote Farms to Your Morning Cup
Ember & Grain was born in 2018 from a simple belief: that the best coffee in the world shouldn’t be reserved for specialty cafés. Our founders — a pair of former agronomists — spent years building direct relationships with farmers across Ethiopia, Colombia, and beyond.
Every bean we roast has a name, a story, and a farm. We pay farmers at least 40% above Fair Trade premiums and return each harvest season to deepen the relationship.
This Season’s
Finest Roasts
All offerings rotate seasonally to capture peak harvest windows from each origin.
Ethiopia Yirgacheffe
Gedeo Zone, Southern Ethiopia · 1,800–2,200m
Bright and floral with notes of jasmine, bergamot, and fresh lemon. A delicate tea-like body with a long, sweet finish.
Colombia Huila
Huila Department, Colombia · 1,600–1,900m
Rich and balanced with caramel sweetness, red cherry, and dark chocolate. Full-bodied with a velvety, lingering finish.
Guatemala Antigua
Antigua Valley, Guatemala · 1,500–1,700m
Bold and smoky with notes of dark chocolate, roasted almond, and brown sugar. A classic, deeply satisfying cup.
The Art Behind Every Bag
Our four-stage process has been refined over seven years to coax the best from every single origin.
Source
We visit farms personally, cup samples on-site, and negotiate directly with growers to secure the finest micro-lots of the season.
Sample Roast
Each new lot is sample-roasted across three profiles to determine the precise development time, charge temperature, and curve.
Production Roast
Using a 15kg Probat drum roaster, we apply the winning profile in batches no larger than 20kg — always on order, never in advance.
Ship Fresh
Beans rest for 12–24 hours to off-gas, then are vacuum-sealed with a one-way valve and dispatched via overnight courier.
What Our Community Says
Over 12,000 subscribers trust us for their morning ritual — here’s what a few of them have to say.
I've tried dozens of specialty roasters and Ember & Grain is consistently in a league of their own. The Ethiopia Yirgacheffe is the most complex, beautiful cup I've ever tasted at home.
The 48-hour freshness guarantee is not a gimmick — I can genuinely taste the difference. My mornings have been transformed. I've cancelled every other coffee subscription I had.
As a café owner I was skeptical about mail-order coffee, but their Guatemala Antigua has become our house espresso. Customers ask about it every single day.
